POSITION:  Noon Aide - Part-time

 

LOCATION: Districtwide 

 

OPEN TO:  External applicants, and Current Carson City School District part-time temporary employees.

NOTE:   Hourly rate of $10.69, without benefits. Hours per day will vary. Bilingual Preferred.

Job Title: Nutrition Aide (Noon Aide) – Part-time Only

Department: Nutrition Services

Reports To: Principal or Designee

General Job Description:

Under the guidance of the principal or designee, this position involves maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations. Assists and supervise students with breakfast and/or lunch service and the playground. Adhere to sanitation, safety policies and accident reporting procedures. Bilingual preferred.

 

Experience or training required:

Knowledge of:

  • Assist with food service;
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Working knowledge of protocols and guidelines for using chemicals.
  • Assist with sanitation of duty areas.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Assist with supervision of students in the food service areas and playground. 

Ability to: Serve students efficiently, observing sanitation standards; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain a safe, sanitary work environment. Effective proactive relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

 

Any combination of training, education and experience, which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position:  Graduation from high school or the equivalent.  A typical qualifying entrance and background check. Preferred completion of formal or informal training in sanitation; or experience in a kitchen or cafeteria environment wherein the incumbent has acquired the knowledge and abilities listed above.

 

Licenses or Certificates Required:

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate, a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence, and an original Social Security Card.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with supervision of students in the food service areas and playground.  Assists school nutritional staff in areas of need, and performs related work as required.

 

Physical Demands: 

Strength: Light Work  -  Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds maximum.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
